EN : « Talking About A Revolution », the exhibition, borrows its title from a famous song by Tracy Chapman. Talking about the revolution, therefore, failing to make it. The artists invited to exhibit at 22 Visconti in this month of May 2018, fifty years therefore exactly after May 68, are not so much revolutionaries, activists, as « irreconcilable ». Having for the most part no illusion as to the durability of capitalism and its system of planetary exploitation, they express however the hope of a political and social betterment while remaining vigilant witnesses. Having known May 68 or not, they take care to avoid the postures of veteran or hero of the cherished freedom and privilege instead a behavior as well as a creation « concerned », as say the Anglo-Saxons – preoccupied. »
FR : « Talking About A Revolution », l’exposition, emprunte son titre à une célèbre chanson de Tracy Chapman. Parler de la révolution, donc, à défaut de la faire. Les artistes conviés à exposer au 22 Visconti en ce mois de mai 2018, cinquante ans donc exactement après Mai 68, ne sont pas tant des révolutionnaires, des activistes, que des « irréconciliés ». N’ayant pour la plupart aucune illusion quant à la durabilité du capitalisme et de son système d’exploitation planétaire, ils expriment cependant l’espérance d’un mieux-disant politique et social tout en restant des témoins vigilants. Ayant connu Mai 68 ou pas, ils ont soin d’éviter les postures ancien combattant ou héros de la liberté chérie et privilégient en lieu et place un comportement ainsi qu’une création “concerned”, comme disent les Anglo-saxons – préoccupée. »
